Immediately after the school shifting was completed, everyone had to reach Kolkata for the Celebration of 106th Birth Anniversary of Swami Lokeswarananda Maharaj. The children of Shaili, from the seniormost group to the juniors all took part in different segments of the function. The performance plans were drawn up under the guidance of Danseuse Sharmila Dasgupta and special practice had started as early as February, soon after the annual school examinations were over. As the date for performance neared, new costumes had to be made, flowers ordered to decorate the venue and arrangements organized to transport all the children from Noapara to the venue in Ballygunj. This year the celebrations took place in the Birla Sabhaghar Auditorium. The highlight of the programme was a special performance by the children under the UDBHAASH project in which we take care of those children who are physically and mentally challenged due to developmental delays from an early stage.
